Terms of use
Plain terms for a set of reference pages.
Using the notes
Read them, link to them, quote them with attribution, use the code examples in your own work. Nothing here requires an account.
Wholesale copying to republish elsewhere is not welcome, and neither is passing this off as your own writing.
The facts described — language semantics, API behaviour, specification requirements — belong to the language and are not claimed by anyone. The wording and the examples on this site were written for it and are published under ordinary copyright.
Not the original notes
This site is not a continuation of the Java notes previously published at this address, is not connected to their author, and does not reproduce their text. See About.
Accuracy
These are reference notes, written carefully and certainly wrong somewhere. Code examples are written to compile and run as shown against a current LTS release, but nothing here is a substitute for the language specification or the API documentation, and nothing here is professional advice about your system.
Where the specification and this site disagree, the specification is right.
Availability
The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will stay up or stay complete.
